A very welcome few hours spent in this small very nice Therme. Unfortunately we had very wet Had an enjoyable couple of hours with wife and friends. There seems to be a never ending variety The reviews of this place are mixed but I liked it. First of all, don't forget to bring a towel I forgot. That said, you can rent them at the entrance. The locker numbers are confusing You need a bathing suit at the beginning in the main, therme area which is really geared for families. In these areas, nudity is by far the norm so be prepared.
Everyone must be naked in the mixed saunas and steams-- men, women and kids. The saunas are great with windows that look out over the lake. There are refreshing cold showers and resting areas. Saunas are in separate buildings and run up to 90 degrees. People move naked outside between the saunas. You can also take a dip in the lake! I thought the place was good, clean and well run.
I'd recommend it. I recently went there with a few friends during a very rainy day - like the rest of Ueberlingen seemed to have done. As school was still out on that day it was, naturally, very crowded. But first things first. The Therme offers four different pools - one for swimmers, one for kids, a hot tub and an outdoor pool from which you have a fantastic view as Lake Constance is right in front of you.
There is also a water slide which I didn't try but it definitely looked like a fun thing to do. The facility overall is clean and prices are reasonable. Staff were friendly and patient. However, the big downer for me was the space! It's totally fine when the place is not crowded but as it was not the changing rooms, showers, bathrooms were just full of people. Moving around became an obstacle course and queues for the changing rooms formed.
Another thing that definitely could have been done differently was the access to the pools. You have to walk down a rather steep staircase which I think is pretty inconvenient for senior citizen or walking-impaired people.
When we arrived in Germany we knew there would be one day of pretty constant rain. Planning ahead having seen a leaflet we decided to visit the Uberlingen Therme.
The place was fantastically clean and all of the staff very friendly, I speak basic German but never had any issues. You wear a smart bracelet that works your locker and any extras you want whilst there. The tag also allows you pay for lunch without fumbling with coins and cards which was excellent. The facilities considering they're equivalent to council baths are super clean and very we'll run. I'd been having some back ache and my wife told me to go into the spa element which is next door.
It's extra money and you use your bracelet to get it. There's about 7 rooms of varing heats. It was no bathing suits which as a prudish Brit took some getting used to, but my the end I was swimming in the lake having been in their hottest sauna and feeling super revitalised. My kids loved the great food and the super fast flume, I went down once and it was enough.
The bit which looks out onto the lake itself is so nice and tranquil. Families or couples would love this place, my only regret is that we didn't have chance to try the sister resorts dotted around the lake in other towns. There are several pools to choose from. Some of the adults exercised in the cooler pools.
The hot water pools are truly warm and relaxing, with bubbles and a strong whirlpool. The slides for the kids kept our kids entertained for hours ages 4, 9, and Plus, there are plenty of "toys" for the kids to play with, including noodles, flippers, etc.
The view from the outside hot water pool is amazing. When we went the lake water was too cold for us, so we stayed in the pools. I'm sure when the whether is warmer, the outside lake activities would also be tons of fun for the kids. The best thing about this place was the value. It's clean and fun, and a bargain. Overcharged and tricked into paying extra at every turn. Had a horrible experience here and the facilities were no better than at a council run leisure centre.
This place is excellent. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. There are several different thermal pools of differing temperatures and a number of different swimming pools, including a water slide.
The outdoor swimming pool is lovely in the summer sun, and it has many different massage points with underwater water jets to pummel away the stress. There are numerous saunas and a steam room and you can swim in Bodensee as there is direct access to the lake from one of the saunas. The gardens are lovely with ample areas of sun and shade, with bar facilities available for food and drinks. There are 3 different sections, and access is restricted depending on which you pay for. We paid to have access to the whole complex and felt this gave us a better experience as we had so many pools, saunas and rest areas at our disposal.
As all food and drink is allocated to your personal electronic wrist tag, you don't have to worry about taking money in with you, you pay for food and drink consumed on exit. All you will need for entry is your sunglasses and a hat - even a bathing costume is not required in a certain section of the complex. This is an amazing place and it is easy to spend hours here, if not more. Log in to get trip updates and message other travelers. You really must be nude!!! Bodensee-Therme Uberlingen. Water Sports.
